Former NFL Coach and current NBC football analyst Tony Dungy will be giving a talk at the Moms and Dads Establishing Life’s Direction event, also known as MELD, in Giovanni’s Restaurant & Convention Center in Rockford, Minnesota on Thursday February 26. The Minnesota native will be starting his speech at 5pm until roughly 9pm, and tickets cost $75 per person to attend.
Dungy has a very long history with the sport of football as he was both a player and a coach for a number of years. He first started playing as a quarterback for the University of Minnesota and was signed on with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent in 1976. The two-time Super Bowl champion as played for the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants for a season a piece, before switching directions towards coaching instead.
The two-time AFC champion then worked for his first team, the Steelers, from 1981 to 1988. Following that he went on to be with the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and most recently the Indianapolis Colts until his retirement in 2009. Dungy was the first NFL head coach to defeat all the other 32 teams in the league, and now days he works as a studio color analyst for NBC Sports’ shows Sunday Night Football and Football Night in America.
The former famed coach will be the guest speaker for MELD on February 26, and he is likely to speak about his various accomplishments throughout his career and the importance of giving back to the community. Dungy is an active member in many charity organizations as well as a devote Christian at his church.
