Fresh off a successful season with USF, Willie Taggart is trying to keep excitement about the Bulls high in the summer months. He will be making four stops in the Bay Area this June to promote the program.
The Kickoff with Coach Taggart events begin June 6th with an event in Bradenton. From June 7-9, the tour will have stops in Brandon, Tampa and St. Petersburg.
Each free event runs from 6-8 with complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. Taggart will mingle with the crowd and also talk about his 2016 football team.
Taggart recorded his first winning season at USF last year, going 8-5. The Bulls finished second in the Eastern Division of the American Athletic Conference and played in the Miami Beach Bowl.
In addition to his three seasons as the head coach at USF, Taggart was also the head coach at his alma mater, Western Kentucky, for three seasons. He took the Hilltoppers to back-to-back 7-5 seasons before leaving for Tampa.
Taggart is a well-known member of the Harbaugh family coaching tree, playing and coaching under father Jack and also coaching under son Jim at Stanford from 2007-2009. He is also a Bradenton native, making his return to the Bay Area particularly fitting.
