Elena Delle Donne is one of the WNBA's biggest stars, but she also has a side career as an author. Her memoir, "My Shot," and children's book, "Elle of the Ball," are currently released.
Delle Donne will be promoting both books with a signing in New Jersey on March 3rd. The event takes place at Books & Greetings in Northvale at 4 p.m.
No tickets are needed, but Delle Donne is only signing books that are purchased at the store. Both books share the unique journey she took to become a basketball superstar.
Delle Donne signed with the legendary Connecticut Huskies out of high school, but returned home shortly after to care for her sister Lizzie, who is disabled. She decided to play in her home state at the University of Delaware and led the nation in scoring as a junior.
Delle Donne was selected second overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2013 WNBA Draft. She played the first four seasons of her career with the franchise and was named WNBA MVP in 2015 after leading the league with 23.4 points per game.
Delle Donne was traded to the Washington Mystics last year. Overall, she is a four-time All-Star and two-time member of the All-WNBA First Team.
