Adia Barnes Biography

Adia Barnes is the women's basketball coach at Arizona and a huge breakout star of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Barnes led the Wildcats for four seasons prior to that banner year where they went 21-6, finished second in the Pac-12 and were national runner-ups. She guided UA on their magical run despite giving birth at the beginning of the season. Barnes also notably was coach of Arizona's 2019 NIT championship team. She got her coaching start as an assistant at the University of Washington. Barnes had an extensive playing background, both internationally and in the WNBA. She won a WNBA Championship in 2004. Barnes played collegiately at Arizona, where she was an All-American and the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1998.
