Al Trautwig Biography

Al Trautwig is a respected New York-based sports broadcaster.  He currently works for NBC Sports and the MSG Network.  On MSG, he serves as the pre and post-game host for the New York Knicks and New York Rangers.  Trautwig has covered 14 Olympics for NBC.  He has been with MSG since 1989 and from 1991-2001 was the New York Yankees pre and post-game host.  Trautwig was the 2000 New York Sportscasters of the Year and has won several New York Sports Emmys for his work.  In the early 1980s, he worked on over 500 sports telecasts for USA Network.  His origins were in soccer broadcasting following his graduation from Adelphi University.  As a result of his acclaimed career in sports, Trautwig was elected to the Adelphi University Sports Hall of Fame.  His first foray into sports came as a kid when he was a stick-boy for the New York Islanders and a ball boy for the New York Nets.
