Angela Stanford Biography

Angela Stanford is a five-time winner on the LPGA Tour. Stanford’s best finish at a major was a tie for second at the 2003 U.S. Open. Just a week later, she won her first LPGA event at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Stanford has represented the U.S. in the Solheim Cup five times. In 2008 and 2009, she finished with her highest world ranking, ninth. Stanford became a pro in 2000 and has earned over eight million dollars. She played golf at TCU, becoming a four-time All-American and All-Western Athletic Conference selection. Stanford was WAC Freshman of the Year in 1997, WAC Player of the Year in 1999, and won the WAC Championship in 2000. She grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. Stanford started her foundation in 2009 to fund scholarships for students in Texas who have had their families affected by cancer. The charity hosts an annual Let Your Light Shine Tournament.
