Art Monk Biography

Art Monk was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2008 and devastated defenses during his 15 year career with the Washington Redskins, New York Jets, and Philadelphia Eagles. Monk was a three time Pro Bowler and a three-time Super Bowl champion. He is one of the greatest Redskins of all-time and was inducted into the team’s Ring of Fame. A member of the 1980s All-Decade Team, Monk was the first player in NFL history to record over 900 receptions. Monk also had a great college career at Syracuse and has served on the school’s Board of Trustees. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2012. He has gotten involved in the business sector since his playing career as the co-founder of and electronic payment services company called Alliant Merchant Services. Monk co-founded the Good Samaritan Foundation, which provides after school programs, tutoring, and mentoring to youth.
