Barry Church Biography

Barry Church has gone from being an undrafted player to a starter at safety for the Dallas Cowboys.  In Church’s first two NFL seasons, he made a name by being a reliable special teams contributor.  He won the strong safety job in 2012 and has been a starter ever since.  2013 would prove to be his breakout season.  Church led the Cowboys with 135 tackles and his 107 solo tackles were the most by any defensive back in the league.  He helped Dallas win the NFC East in 2014.  Church won the Cowboys’ Ed Block Courage Award in 2013.  While he was unheralded out of college, Church still had a standout career at Toledo.  He was a four-time first-team All-Mid American Conference selection.  The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native attended Penn Hills High School.  In addition to being a football star, Church was also a state champion triple jumper in high school.
