Bill O'Brien Biography

Bill O'Brien is the former head coach of the Houston Texans and current offensive coordinator for the Ohio State Buckeyes. O'Brien was 52-48 in six-plus seasons in Houston, guiding the franchise to four AFC South Division titles. Bill originally began coaching in 1993 after playing defensive end and linebacker for Brown University from 1990-1992. From 1993 to 2006 Bill coached at four schools at the collegiate level before making the move to the NFL where he became an assistant coach for the New England Patriots. O'Brien got his first opportunity as a head coach on the college level, replacing the legend Joe Paterno at Penn State. During his short time at Penn State, Bill was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year as well as the National Coach of the Year by ESPN.
