Bobby Gates Biography

Bobby Gates is a Gainesville, Florida native and starred on the F.W. Buchholz High School golf team before heading to Texas A&M University.  During his time at Buchholz he was named Scholar Athlete of the Year for Alachua, County, and would eventually use his smarts on the golf course to help lead the Aggies of Texas A&M to several team and individual titles before turning pro in 2008.  During his first year on the pro tour he won the DFW Spring #4 tournament on the Gateway Tour and would go on to earn his way onto the Nationwide Tour in 2010.  Gates won his debut tournament on the Nationwide Tour in 2010, capturing the Michael Hill New Zealand Open.  He’d go on to finish 16th on the 2010 Nationwide Tour money list, which earned him his PGA Tour Card in 2011.  Since that time he’s been a solid finisher on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour and is one of the world’s top rising young stars on the golf course.
