Brent Venables Biography

Brent Venables has long been regarded as one of the best defensive minds in college football prior to becoming the head coach at Oklahoma. Venables spent a decade on the staff at Clemson, helping Dabo Swinney build the Tigers into a national power. He won the Broyles Award as the top assistant coach in college football in 2015. Venables did have previous experience in Norman as well, serving in a variety of capacities from 1999-2011. He got his coaching start at his alma mater Kansas State as a graduate assistant in 1993 and later coached the Wildcats linebackers from 1996-98.
