Brian Bateman Biography

Brian Bateman is a former PGA Tour golfer who currently works as an analyst for Golf Channel. Originally from Louisiana, Bateman attended his hometown Louisiana State University to play for their golf team until his graduation in 1996. Following his graduation, Bateman turned professional, joining the Nationwide Tour and competing for five seasons, winning one tournament at the 1998 NIKE Carolina Classic. In 2001, Bateman completed PGA Tour qualifying school, and made his debut on the PGA Tour later that year, and he has competed on the tour ever since. At the 2007 Buick Open, Bateman secured his first PGA Tour victory by defeating Jason Gore, Justin Leonard, and Woody Austin by one stroke. His best finish at a major championship was a 20th place finish at the 2008 Masters
