Brian Billick Biography

Brian Billick is a former NFL head coach and broadcaster. As a player, Billick experienced early success at the Air Force Academy and Brigham Young University, earning honorable mention All American honors and All-Western Athletic Conference in his senior season at BYU. Following his graduation, Billick entered the 1977 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the 11th round by the San Francisco 49ers, but never played a down in the NFL. After retiring as a player, Billick returned to BYU as a graduate assistant, become the offensive coordinator at Utah State. Billick would jump to the NFL in 1992 as a tight ends coach with the Minnesota Vikings, and would eventually be promoted to offensive coordinator in 1994. In 1998, Billick left the Vikings to become head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, where he would coach for eight seasons, winning one Super Bowl and compiling an 85-67 record before being let go in 2007. The next year, Billick would become an NFL analyst for Fox Sports, and would do so for six seasons before leaving the station at the end of the 2013 season.
