Briny Baird Biography

Briny Baird is a professional golfer who has competed on the Web.com Tour as well as the PGA Tour in 20 years as a professional. Born in Miami, Florida, Baird began golfing in the 7th grade, making his school’s varsity team. He originally attended Georgia Tech on an athletic scholarship, but decided to transfer to Valdosta State University where he won the NCAA Division II championship in 1994 and 1995. Following his graduation from VSU in 1995, Baird turned professional, initially competing on the Buy.com Tour. He has one win on the tour, a four stroke victory at the Monterrey Open over Mark Hensby. In 2001, Baird graduated from qualifying school to compete on the PGA Tour, where he has competed ever since. His highest finish in the money rankings was a 22nd place in 2003, and he has a high finish of 22nd in a major championship.
