Bruce Pearl Biography

Bruce Pearl spent six seasons at the helm of the University of Tennessee’s men's basketball program from 2005 to 2011.  His accomplishments include being named the SEC Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2008, and earning the Adolph Rupp National Coach of the Year award in 2008 after leading the Volunteers to a 31-5 record and an NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance.  During his 6 years at Tennessee he led the Volunteers to the NCAA tournament each year with an appearance in the Elite Eight in 2009-2010.  His overall record at Tennessee was 145-61, with a 65-31 SEC record.   Prior to his time at Tennessee he coached nine seasons at Southern Indiana and won an NCAA Div. II National Championship in 1995.  During four years as the head at the University of Milwaukee he led his team to two NCAA Tournament appearances including one Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2005.  In 2014 Auburn University hired Pearl to head up their basketball program with the hopes that he would restore the championship prowess to their program.
