Chris Ash Biography

Chris Ash is the defensive coordinator at the University of Texas after spending four seasons as the head football coach at Rutgers University. He took the job at Rutgers following the 2015 season. Ash built up his resume as one of the best defensive coordinators in college football. He spent two seasons as the co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State as well as stints running the defense at Arkansas and Wisconsin. Ash spent seven years on the coaching staff at Iowa State in a variety of capacities. In between stints in Ames, he also coaches defensive backs and served as recruiting coordinator at San Diego State. Ash's coaching career began as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Drake, in 1997. He spent two seasons as the defensive coordinator there too.
