Christen Press Biography

Christen Press is a star for the United States women's national team. Press has played with the senior national team since 2013 and won the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2015. She currently plays professionally for Utah Royals FC, after beginning her NWSL career with the Chicago Red Stars. Press was named to the NWSL Best XI in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Prior to coming back to the states, she had a successful run internationally, becoming the first American player to win the Swedish league's Golden Boot. Press first became a pro in the now-defunct WPS and won the league's Rookie of the Year award in 2011. She played four years of college soccer at Stanford, setting Cardinal career records for points, goals, assists and shots. Press also won the 2010 Hermann Trophy was a two-time runner up at the Women's College Cup.
