Cristie Kerr Biography

Cristie Kerr is a professional golfer who is most commonly known for competing on the LPGA Tour, her most current tour. Kerr was born in Miami, Florida in 1977 and took up golf at the young age of eight years old. She had much success as a junior golfer and was able to obtain her first professional tournament win in April of 1995 on the Futures Tour, before she had even turned professional. The following year, Kerr officially debuted professionally and has since obtained twenty-three professional wins, the majority of them incurred in the LPGA Tour. Kerr was awarded the 2006 LPGA Komen Award for her activities off the course that consist of extreme dedication to finding a cure for breast cancer. In fact, Ker set up a foundation called Birdies for Breast Cancer that generously donates $50 per birdie to finding the cure. With inspiration from her mother, who was a victim of breast cancer, Kerr continues to use her passion of golf to help fight for another passion of hers. Kerr is an admirable example of someone who takes advantage of her talent and successes to better the world around her.
