Curtis Luck is one of the most promising stars in the world of golf. In 2016, he became the U.S. Amateur champion. The following year, Luck became the top-ranked amateur player in the world. He had an exemption into the Masters and finished in a tie for 46th in his first major event. After hitting the top spot on the World Golf Amateur Ranking list, he turned pro. Luck played his first event as a professional at the Valero Texas Open. While he was still an amateur, Luck won the Western Australian Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia. After his U.S. Amateur in, he was named the Emerging Athlete of the Year at the Australian Institute of Sports Performance Awards.
