Daniel Gibson Biography

Daniel Gibson is a former NBA shooting guard who last played with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2013. Prior to his time in the NBA, Gibson played collegiately at the University of Texas from 2004 until 2006, averaging 13.8 points with 3.6 rebounds and3.5 assists in 68 starts. While with Texas, Gibson scored 935 points including 175 three pointers with 101 of those coming in his sophomore season. Following his sophomore season, Gibson announced his eligibility for the 2006 NBA Draft, eventually being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round. Seldom used during his rookie season, Gibson earned his first chance to shine during the 2007 Playoffs, breaking out of his slump and helping the Cavaliers reach the NBA Finals. During the next five seasons, Gibson would become a starter with the Cavaliers, leading the team in various offensive categories throughout his time there. After the 2012-2013 season, Gibson chose to leave the team, and has not appeared in the NBA since.
