Dara Torres Biography

Dara Torres is one of the best Olympic swimmers ever, with five Olympic Games and 12 Olympic medals to her name. But she's more than just an unbelievable athlete. She’s a mom, a best-selling author, and an inspiring motivational speaker.

When she won her first Gold Medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games no one could have imagined that she’d top that performance by winning two Gold Medals 16 years later at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.  That being said, who could have predicted that 24 years later she’d win three Silver Medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics?  It’s a story for the ages, and a feat not likely to be accomplished again in our lifetime.
