Darqueze Dennard Biography

Darqueze Dennard was an under the radar defensive back coming out of high school in Georgia, who was offered a scholarship to play football for Michigan State University. Dennard quickly impressed the Spartans coaching staff, earning a spot on the field for half of his true freshman season. He continued to excel at MSU, starting all of the games he wasn't injured for his next three seasons, including being twice named First Team All-Big Ten. Following his senior season, Dennard was a unanimous All-American and was awarded the Jim Thorpe Award for the nation's top defensive back. Following his college career with 167 tackles and 10 interceptions, Dennard was selected in the First Round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He was a starter throughout his career in Cincinnati before signing with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020.
