Daryl Johnston Biography

Daryl Johnston has had a professional life in the spotlight.  Currently, he is one of the top NFL analysts for FOX Sports.  His success and championship pedigree acquired as a fullback in the 1990s with the Dallas Cowboys has given him great credibility in the broadcast world.  The Pro Bowl actually created a spot for a full back because of Johnston’s impact.  He would make two Pro Bowls and win three Super Bowl titles with the Cowboys.  Johnston was a perfect receiving target out of the backfield for Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman and also a top-notch special teams player.  While “The Triplets” grouping of Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin got the lion’s share of credit for the dynasty in Dallas, players like “Moose” were just as critical to team success.  The Cowboys originally selected him out of Syracuse in the second round of the 1989 NFL Draft.  Johnston was an All-Big East and All-American pick during his career with the Orange.
