David Mathis Biography

David Mathis is a Winston-Salem, North Carolina native and played his collegiate golf in his homestate at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.  During his days at Campbell he was a solid performer for the Camels, helping them to several team tournament championships during his four years there.  After earning his degree in 1997 he turned pro and played on several mini-tours before joining the Canadian Tour in 2001.  While playing on the Canadian Tour he captured the one TarHell Tour in 2004 and then won the 2005 Michelin Morelia Classic.  In 2006 he joined the Nationwide Tour and won the 2008 BMW Charity Pro-Am and 2010 Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open.  In 2009 he reached his goal of joining the PGA Tour and has since won two tournaments on the Web.com tour while competing in the 2012 U.S. Open.  In 2010 he finished a career best 13th on the Nationwide Tour money list.
