Derrick Mason Biography

Derrick Mason joined the Tennessee Oilers in 1997 after being selected in the 4th round of the NFL Draft out of Michigan State University. Over the next 14 seasons he played with the Oilers, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and Houston Texans before retiring in 2011. During his career he earned two Pro Bowl appearances in 2000 and 2003 and helped the Titans to an AFC Championship in 1999. He retired as the Ravens all-time career leader in receptions and receiving yards. He ended his career with 943 receptions and 12,061 receiving yards to go along with 66 receiving touchdowns. Off the field he established “The Derrick Mason Foundation” with the goal of improving the community. In 2012 he made his way back to football when he was hired as the wide receivers coach at Ensworth High School.
