Erin Buescher Biography

Erin Buescher is a former professional basketball player for the San Antonio Silver Stars. Prior to her professional career, Buescher was named the Big West Player of the year as a freshman and a sophomore at University of California, Santa Barbara. In April 2001, the Minnesota Lynx drafted Buescher as a second round draft pick. Her rookie season was spent on the court during all 32 games with 19 starts and 29 blocked shots.  In 2002, Buescher left the Lynx and was signed with the Charlotte Sting in a multi-player draft-deal. Her time with the Sting was short due to a sprained ankle and a strained lower back. In 2004, Buescher took a break from the WNBA to play in New Zealand for the Harbour Breeze and in Greece for Akademia. The Sting then traded Buescher to the Sacramento Monarchs where Buescher helped the Monarchs win their first championship over the Connecticut Suns. In March 2007, Buescher signed with the San Antonio Silver Stars where she suffered a season-ending knee surgery after being the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week.
