Fran Brown Biography

Fran Brown is tasked with leading the new era of Syracuse football. The Orange hired Brown in 2023 after he spent two seasons coaching defensive backs for Georgia. The Camden, New Jersey native has previous deep ties to coaching and recruiting in the Northeast. Brown had multiple stints on the staff at Temple and also spent two years at Rutgers. He also spent a couple of seasons following Matt Rule from Temple to Baylor. Brown began his coaching career on the high school level at Paul VI in Virginia in 2010. He played college football at Western Carolina, where he was a first-team All-SoCon selection. Brown also spent two seasons on the Cincinnati Bengals roster.
