Georgi Karakhanyan Biography

Armenian mixed martial artist Georgi Karakhanyan is a black belt in jiu-jitsu and a former World Series of Fighting champion.  Raised in Moscow, Russia, Karakhanyan competed in Russia and Spain before coming to the United States to compete in the Bellator Fighting Championships, Tachi Palace Fights, DREAM, and World Series of Fighting.  During that time he also pursued a career in boxing, winning the only pro match he competed in.

Karakhanyan’s overall MMA record is 28-4.  The majority of his wins have come through submission with 4 coming by knockout.  Heading into his last bout, which was his first defense of the WSOF Featherweight Championship he won in 2013, he was on a nine-fight win streak.  Currently Karakhanyan is one of the top featherweight contenders in the world, and is a force to be reckoned with in the ring.  Outside the ring he is an articulate 29 year old with high ambition to excel and help others along the way.
