Ian Poulter Biography

Ian Poulter is a professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. Poulter began golfing at four years old when his father gave him a cut-down 3- wood. Poulter turned professional in 1995 and he recorded his first win in 1999 at the Open de Cote d’lvoire on the Challenge Tour. In his first season, Poulter claimed the Italian Open title and he was named the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 2000. Poulter is in the top ten Order of the Merit seven times. In February 2010, Poulter won his first tournament on U.S. soil at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. On November 4, 2012, Poulter won his second World Golf Championship of his career at the WGC-HSBC Champions. Poulter is known for his eccentric dress sense, which is inspired by his mother. In addition to his golfing career, Poulter launched Ian Poulter Design in 2007.
