Jace Amaro Biography

Jace Amaro is a former star tight end at Texas Tech. While in high school, Amaro played football, basketball and track. As a junior, he tore his ACL and as a senior, he helped the basketball team to the state quarterfinals appearance. He also won the silver medal at the 2010 regional track meet. Coming out of high school, Amaro was ranked as the No. 3 tight end in his class and No. 52 by Rivals Top 100. Amaro attended Texas Tech University where he earned Unanimous All-American honors and set the record for Division I single-season receiving yards by a tight end. Amaro was the Ozzie Newsome Award winner, Fred Biletnikoff Award semi-finalist, Unanimous All-American 1st Team, All-Big 12 Conference 1st Team and CFPA National Tight End of the Year. The New York Jets selected Amaro in the 2nd round as the 49th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Amaro spent two seasons with the Jets and a third with the Tennessee Titans. He is now attempting a football comeback with the Seattle Dragons.
