Jim Furyk Biography

Jim Furyk was one of the best golfers of his era, reaching a career-high of second in the World Golf Rankings. For 440 weeks, Furyk was ranked in the top ten. He captured one major, the 2003 U.S. Open, and won 17 times on the PGA Tour. 2010 was a banner year for Furyk when he won the PGA Tour Player of the Year and was the FedEx Cup Champion following a one-stroke victory in the season-ending Tour Championship.  

Furyk went pro out of the University of Arizona in 1992 and started on the Tour in 1994.  With the Wildcats, he was a two-time All-American and led the school to an NCAA title in his final season.  Furyk learned the game from his father, who was an assistant golf pro in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
