Joe Panik Biography

Joe Panik was a World Series hero for the San Francisco Giants in 2014.  Panik debuted during the 2014 season, but he will be forever remembered for what he did in the postseason.  He hit a Game 5 home run in the NLCS that helped carry the Giants over the Cardinals and into the World Series.  Once on the Fall Classic stage, Panik initiated a spectacular double play in Game 7 that helped San Francisco score the 3-2 win.  The Giants originally selected him in the first round out of St. John’s in the 2011 MLB Draft.  Panik hit .388 as a junior for the Red Storm and earned All-American and All-Big East honors.
