Joe Randa Biography

Joe Randa was a four-sport star at Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wisconsin, starring on the Lasers basketball, baseball, football and tennis teams and earning a spot in the Kettle Moraine Laser Trailblazer Hall of Fame. In 1991 he was selected in the 11th round of the MLB First Year Player Draft by the Kansas City Royals and went on to make his major league debut in Kansas City four years later. After two years with the Royals he spent one year with the Pirates and another year with the Tigers before returning to Kansas City in 1999. During his second stint with the Royals he was one of the most consistent hitters in the league, hitting .314 in 1999 and .304 in 2000. In 2005 he headed to the Cincinnati Reds and then played for the San Diego Padres before retiring as a 12-year veteran in 2006 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. During his career he hit a solid .284 with 123 homeruns, 327 doubles and 739 RBI in 1,522 career games.
