Joey Beltran Biography

Joey Beltran is an Oceanside, California native and began boxing at the age of 10. Eventually he gained experience in wrestling while in middle school and high school and also was a respected street fighter before heading to the University of Hawaii at Manoa on a wrestling scholarship. After one year in Hawaii he moved back to California and attended Polamar College while training in mixed martial arts fulltime. In 2007 he made his Strikeforce debut and would go on to make his UFC debut in 2009. During his career in the UFC he earned the nickname “The Mexicutioner” and competed in both the Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight divisions. Sporting a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a background in wrestling, boxing and kickboxing, he has compiled a 15-11-career MMA record and become a two time Fight of the Night winner.
