Joey McGuire Biography

Joey McGuire is the head football coach for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. McGuire was hired by Tech in 2021 after being one of the key reasons behind the post-Art Briles revival at Baylor. He spent five seasons on the Bears coaching staff, three of them as associate head coach. McGuire is known for his recruiting prowess in the state of Texas due to a long run on the high school level as the head coach at Cedar Hill. There he made 12 playoff appearances in 13 years and won three state titles. McGuire is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association's Hall of Honor.
