John Mozeliak Biography

John Mozeliak is the president of baseball operations for the St. Louis Cardinals and one of the most respected executives in the sport. Mozeliak was originally hired as the general manager of the franchise in 2007 and promoted to his current role in 2017. During his time in charge, the Cardinals have made six trips to the playoffs and won the World Series in 2011. St. Louis has been named Baseball America Organization of the Year twice under his watch. Mozeliak won the Andrew "Rube" Foster Award as the best executive in the National League in 2012. He has been known for savvy trades that brought in standouts like David Freese and Matt Holliday. Mozeliak originally joined the franchise in their scouting department in 1995. He got into baseball in 1993 with a clubhouse job with the Colorado Rockies.
