Kyle Shanahan Biography

Kyle Shanahan serves as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers and he is regarded as one of the brightest offensive minds in football. Prior to arriving in the Bay Area, Shanahan was the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons for two seasons. While there, he was named the 2016 NFL Assistant Coach of the Year and helped the team reach Super Bowl LI. Shanahan also had stints as the offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins and Houston Texans. When he was hired by the Texans in 2008, he was the youngest coordinator in the league. Shanahan got his start in the NFL as an offensive quality control assistant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2004. He begn his coaching career as a graduate assistant the year prior at UCLA.
