Lacy Schnoor Biography

Lacy Schnoor is a freestyle skier who has competed since 2003. Schnoor began skiing recreationally at the age of 6, and Schnoor was a gymnast until an Olympic outreach program showed her the opportunities to be an Olympic aerialist. Schnoor is still mastering ski skills and aerial moves, but her background in gymnastics is a huge help. She started in 2002, and in 2003 she injured her knee. By 2005, she was an aerials national champion. Schnoor’s best World Cup was eighth in an aerials event in 2007. Her best finish at the FIF Freestyle World Ski Championships was 7th in the aerials at Inawashiro in 2009. Schnoor qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics in December 2009, and she made her Olympic debut at the Women’s Aerials even on February 20, 2010. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, she placed 9th. During her career, she has gone to Worlds in 2007 and 2009. In 2007, she won back-to-back aerials NorAms, and she won the 2006 NorAm aerials –three in Park City.
