Len Mattiace Biography

Len Mattiace was born in New York and graduated from Nease High School in Ponte Vedra, Florida. After high school he headed to Wake Forest University and starred on the Demon Deacons golf team, helping his team to a 1986 NCAA National Championship. The following year he was selected to represent the United States on the Walker Cup team. After earning his undergraduate degree in sociology from Wake Forest in 1990 he joined the pro ranks and began a successful career on the PGA Tour. In 1996 he finished as the runner-up at the Buick Challenge, losing in an epic four-player playoff. Two years later he posted an impressive performance at the 1998 Players Championship and put his name on the map. He went on to win the Nissan Open and FedEx St. Jude Classic in 2002 and finish second at the 2003 Masters Tournament. Throughout Mattiace’s career he has been a solid performer on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour, and continues to impress as a pro each time he tees off on golf’s most elite level.
