Luke Donald Biography

Luke Donald is a former world number one golfer who has won five times on the PGA Tour.  Donald first became number one in May 2011, held that title for 40 consecutive weeks, and has been at the top for 56 weeks in his career.  He won two times on the PGA Tour and three times on the European Tour in 2011.  That stretch notched him several awards including the PGA Tour Player of the Year and European Tour Golfer of the Year.  Donald is considered one of the best golfers in the world to never win a major.  His highest finish of third in a major was achieved at both the 2005 Masters and the 2006 PGA Championship.  Donald’s first professional win came on the PGA Tour at the 2002 Southern Farm Bureau Classic.  Playing collegiately at Northwestern, he won the 1999 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Golf Championship.  Donald is a native of England and was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2012.
