Matt Bahr Biography

Matt Bahr is a former professional placekicker who has won 2 Super Bowls in his career. Bahr attended Penn State University where he played soccer and was named an All-American as a senior. After graduating, Bahr signed with the Colorado Caribous and he also played for the Tulsa Roughnecks and the Pennsylvania Stoners. After his soccer career came to an end, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Bahr in the 6th round as the 165th overall pick in the 1979 NFL Draft. Bahr won his first Super Bowl as a rookie with the Steelers. Throughout his career, Bahr played for the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and the New England Patriots. In his time with the Giants, Bahr is best known for his 1990 NFC Championship Game when he kicked 5 field goals and set an NFC Championship Game Record. Bahr now spends his time as an electrical engineer in Pittsburgh.
