Matt Bonner Biography

Matt Bonner is a professional center/ power forward for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA. Bonner attended the University of Florida on an athletic scholarship where he played on the Gator’s basketball team from 1999-2003. In his senior season, Bonner was named a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection and he was an Associated Press honorable mention All-American. In 2002 and 2003, Bonner was the Academic All-American of the Year for basketball. For the 2003-04 season, Bonner played for the Pallacanestro Messina in Italy. In 2004, Bonner signed with the Toronto Raptors where he remained for a total of three years. Bonner was traded to the San Antonio Spurs on June 21, 2006. Bonner has won two NBA Championships with the San Antonio Spurs. In 2013, Bonner participated in the NBA Three-Point Shootout during All Star Weekends, but he lost to Kyrie Irving. Bonner resigned with the Spurs on July 21, 2014.
