Monica Abbott has become one of the most successful softball players in the world. Prior to becoming a part of team USA in international events including the Olympics, Monica began her career in college at the University of Tennessee. In college she set records that have never been seen before including becoming the first pitcher in NCAA Division I history to record 500 strikeouts in all four years of her college career. That feat is even more profound when it is mentioned that there were only ever two pitchers who had 500 strikeout seasons. Over the course of her career she has won nearly every possible award in her sport, including medals at various softball championships. She has won a silver medal in the World Series of Softball as well as 4 gold medals. Her biggest accomplishment came in 2008 at the Olympics where she led team USA to a silver medal in Beijing.
