Pam McGee Biography

Pam McGee is a former professional women’s basketball player, widely known for her WNBA and United States National Team career. McGee was an All-American and a two time NCAA champion at the University of Southern California, playing for the United States at the same time. Her national team success was immense, as she helped the United States to a gold medal at the Pan American championships, the Jones Cup, and the Olympics, along with a silver medal at the FIBA World Championships. After playing internationally in Brazil, France, Italy, and Spain, McGee was drafted second overall in the 1997 WNBA Draft. Although she was 34 at the time, the Sacramento Monarchs felt that she would bring in fans and help the team succeed. McGee only played two seasons in the WNBA, and is now an assistant coach for the Detroit Shock.
