Pat Hill Biography

Pat Hill is a former coach, notorious for his time as head coach of the Fresno State University football team. Hill started his coaching career with the University of Utah as an offensive line coach, bouncing around from various colleges to the CFL until being hired by the Cleveland Browns of the NFL. Hill left the NFL in 1996 to become head coach of Fresno State. Over his 15 year career, Hill beat 17 BCS Automatic qualifying teams, tied for most wins with Utah. Hill would lead the Bulldogs to 11 bowl games, with a 4-7 record. The best season for Hill and the Bulldogs was 2001, when they defeated two ranked teams and had an 11-3 record. Hill one won conference championship in 1999, the only championship of his tenure. On December 4, 2011, Hill was fired after a 4-9 season, eventually going to be the offensive line coach for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.
