Paul DeJong Biography

Paul DeJong is one of the most talented young shortstops in baseball. After playing college baseball at Illinois State, DeJong was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2015 MLB Draft. In 2016, he was named a Texas League All-Star. After beginning 2017 in AAA, DeJong was promoted to the major leagues in May. He went on to have a banner rookie season, hitting .285 with 25 home runs and 65 RBI. He was named National League Rookie of the Month after batting .298 with 6 home runs and 16 RBI.
