Paul Molitor Biography

Paul Molitor is a former MLB infielder and current manager of the Minnesota Twins. Molitor started his playing career with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1978, playing 125 games, batting .273 with six homeruns. In 1982, Molitor led the Brewers to the World Series, batting .355 in the series. Early in his career, Molitor struggled with elbow injuries, being on and off the DL throughout his stint with the Brewers. His time with the Brewers would be phenomenal, making four All-Star games and winning two Silver Slugger awards. Despite wanting to remain with the team, Molitor signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992, quickly becoming an offensive powerhouse in a stacked Blue Jays lineup. In his first season with the team, Molitor hit .322 with 22 homeruns and 111 RBI, leading the Blue Jays to their second championship in his first year. In 1995, Molitor would leave to join his hometown Minnesota Twins, batting over .300 in his final seasons leading up to his retirement in 1998. After retiring, Molitor served as a bench coach for the Twins until leaving the team in 2001, eventually returning as a base coach in 2014. At the end of the 2014 season, the Twins named Molitor their new manager, and he looks to return the Twins to their winning ways.
