Peter Lonard Biography

Peter Lonard is a longtime PGA Tour golfer who won the 2005 MCI Heritage.  The Australian has also had great success on the PGA Tour of Australasia.  Lonard won the Order of Merit in 1996-97 and again in 2003.  He has nine PGA Tour of Australasia wins.  In his first season on the PGA Tour in 2002, Lonard made over $1 million.  That rookie year also saw him card top 20 finishes in the U.S. Open, British Open, and PGA Championship.  He has competed in the President’s Cup twice.  After contracting a rare mosquito virus in the mid-1990s, Lonard stayed out of tournament golf and worked as a club pro at Oatlands Golf Club in Sydney.  Since 2009, he has only played sparingly on the PGA Tour, instead competing in more events on the Web.com Tour and in Asia.  Lonard originally turned pro in 1989.
