P.J. Fleck Biography

P.J. Fleck is the head football coach at the University of Minnesota. He built a reputation as one of the top young coaches in college football while serving as the head coach at Western Michigan. Fleck has built the Broncos program into a winner after going 1-11 in his first season in 2013. His WMU squads posted back-to-back 8-5 records prior to a banner 2016 campaign. The Broncos posted a perfect 13-0 record and won the Mid-American Conference title. They also earned a spot in the Cotton Bowl as the top team from the Group of 5. Fleck was named MAC Coach of the Year twice. Prior to taking the job in Kalamazoo, Fleck spent one season as the wide receivers coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent two seasons coaching wide receivers at Rutgers. From 2007-2009, Fleck was the wide receivers coach at his alma mater, Northern Illinois. His coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Ohio State in 2006. Fleck is among the leading receivers in NIU history and spent two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before going into coaching.
