Randy LaJoie Biography

Randy LaJoie is a former NASCAR driver. He began racing at the age of 12 in go karts. After a championship in the NASCAR North Tour, Randy made it to the top level of the sport in the Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) Series in 1985. After running several races over several seasons in the series, Randy moved to the Busch (now XFinity) series where he made a name for himself. Over 19 seasons he ran in 350 races where he recorded 9 pole positions, 118 top ten finishes and 15 wins. Those numbers propelled LaJoie to the 1996 and 1997 Busch Series Championship. Since his last race in 2006 Randy has focused on team ownership for his son Corey who is rising up the NASCAR ranks. Randy has also been a broadcaster and a manufacturer of racecar driver seats in an effort to improve safety in the sport in recent years.
